Living in Lagos Tag With Chidinma of sincerelychi.
LSOO: How long have you been living in your city?
Almost 22 years. I was born here.
LSOO: Are you there temporarily or permanently?
Temporarily, since I currently school outside the state.
LSOO: Share with us three good things about the city.
Beautiful beaches – Lagos is surrounded by water bodies so that makes lots of beaches available for visitors to visit and lots of fun activities to take place.
Owambe parties – Owambes are referred to as Lagos weekend parties. Lagos weekend parties are very colourful and unique. It’s never a dull moment. There are always lots to eat and drink too and one last amazing thing, there are always parties back to back.
Job opportunities – Lagos is the major economic centre of Nigeria and even West Africa. Most business enterprises have their headquarters in Lagos. The chance of building your career is higher in Lagos.
LSOO: Share with us three bad things about the city.
Traffic – Do I really need to say much about this?? It’s now a case of Fix it Jesus!
The high cost of taxi fares – Those taxi drivers don’t smile.
Agberos – Agberos are area boys. They make life miserable for people. I think they should be clamped down on.
LSOO: Where is your favourite place to have lunch with friends?
Errr…. My house.😂😂😂 I’m really the boring type, but there are lots and lots of amazing restaurants in town.
LSOO: Where is your favourite place to experience the nightlife of the city?
Fela’s shrine and Freedom Park (Afropolitan vibes).
LSOO: Where will you go to have an ”alone” time in the city?
I will usually stay at home and curl up in a tight corner but If I was to suggest to someone, I’d say those road side gardens. There are loads of them in Lagos and in practically every area.
LSOO: Someone is visiting the city first time, where will you take the person and why?
Fela’s Shrine – Lots to drink, eat, smoke (if you do). Amazing music playing always too.
LSOO: What is that one thing that needs to change about the city?
The traffic – It’s terrible. Something should be done fast.
LSOO: Share with us a funny experience since you have been living in the city?
A while ago, I got on a bus and I was supposed to stop at Sanya bus-stop, however, some yeye people got on the bus and started mis-yarning. So I put my ear phones on and then it happened, I slept off in a danfo bus that night. Next thing, I was heading to Orile. No jokes! I didn’t even know where I was, I just got off the bus and took another bus home. My aunt was so angry and was ready to flog me. She kept screaming about ritual and rape, but the funny thing was I was still very sleepy during the cause of the whole incident.
