Five songs by Project Fame West Africa ex-contestants to listen to this weekend...
Currently listening to Sampha | Timmy’s Prayer
Project Fame West Africa is a household name in Nigeria and probably doesn’t need any form of introduction. However, for people who don’t know, Project Fame is a music talent reality show that started in 2008 and has produced so many beautiful Nigerian artists like Niniola, Praiz and Chidinma in the music industry today.
After season 9 ended in September 2016, I got curious to find out what past contestants have been up to since the show ended for them… curiosity lead me to do some research (I am a journalism graduate… don’t judge me, please.) and I was delighted to find out that some of them are actually still doing music and have released great songs!
For this post, I will be sharing five songs by Project Fame’s ex-contestants that I am absolutely loving right now:
*RUBUNU | MAI LO (Season 7)
Debbie Rubunu Olotu, born on the 6th of October, 1992, a native of Delta State in Nigeria is a singer, guitarist, creative makeup artist and filmmaker. Due to the nature of her parents’ job as missionaries, Debbie grew up in different places and has lived in countries like Liberia, Sierra Leone and Ghana. (Source)
*OLUCHI | CHI IHUNAYA (Season 9)
Oluch Obasi can simply be described as an amiable bespectacled chic. The 24-year-old Abia state indigene is the sixth child among seven children. She studied Music at the Lagos State University. (Source)
*MIRABEL | TREAT YOU BETTER COVER (Season 9)
Mirabel Ayavoro is a graduate of Babcock Business School. Asides her love for music, the 21-year-old is also into fashion designing. She is also a white belter in Karate and according to her, her interest in karate was kindled through watching action movies. (Source)
* UGOVINNA | WANDERER (Season 7)
*JOHNNY DRILLE | MY BEAUTIFUL LOVE (Season 6)
Have you heard any of the songs? Do you know other songs from project fame past contestants that we should listen to? Or do you have a favourite contestant so far? Please share!
Thank you for reading and have a blessed weekend.
