The new year essentials you need for 2018
Smiles from the threshold of the year to come,
Whispering ‘it will be happier’…”
― Alfred Tennyson
I understand that we, sometimes, start the new year with so many new year resolutions and goals. Perfect! However, I ended last year telling myself that I won’t be writing down any goals for 2018, but I failed woefully because I have written 18 goals to achieve in 2018 already. I believe that writing these goals keep me grounded.
Regardless of this, for once, in many years, I won’t put myself under any pressure to achieve this or that; for once, in many years, I want to go with the flow. For once, in many years… I just want to… I just want to…
“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language
And next year’s words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.”
― T.S. Eliot
Here are the top three essentials I think you need for 2018:
‘And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.” (Habakkuk 2:2)
2| Devotion books/apps
“This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.” (Joshua 1:8)
Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven. (Daniel 2:19)
“The object of a New Year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul and a new nose; new feet, a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes.”
― G.K. Chesterton, A Chesterton calendar.
