On Personal Style: The Inverted Triangle Body
For someone who isn’t really into fashion, understanding my body shape and what fits it was a very difficult task. Around the year 2014, when I was trying to lose weight (that I have already added back), I did a full research on my body because I wanted to understand it more.
After the research, I found out that I have an inverted triangle body. Here are some of the characteristics of my body:
1| The bottom half if my body is smaller than the top.
2| There is a little definition between my waists and hips.
3| My hips is flat and also my bottom.
4| I have a squared shoulder line.
“I am not my body. My body is nothing without me.”

When I found this out, I then discovered that there were so many rules to how to dress this body and it was draining because I, honestly, don’t have that type of energy. However, there are a few tips that I have held on to:
1| Wear tops that are below the hip bone.
2| Where darker colours on top (thank goodness that I don’t like bright outfits)
3| Fuller leg width in trousers and culottes fit my body shape better.
4| Avoid shoulder pads.
5| Avoid tapered skirts.
Wow. Even writing this post is stress… LMAO!
The good thing is: I am learning more and more about how to style myself better and I believe that I will be a pro soon.
Thank you for reading, guys!
