Life lessons with Stalker by Damilola Mike-Bamiloye
Kindly note that this post was written in September 2017.
A couple of days ago, I watched ”Stalker”, a movie by Damilola Mike-Bamiloye, on YouTube and I found myself taking notes because it spoke to me in so many ways. It reminded me of something that we, as Christians, need to incorporate into our everyday lives, forgiveness.
As you may know, whenever I write a review I focus majorly on the lessons learnt from the movie and not the acting or producing or directing.
Here are the lessons learnt from Stalker by Damilola Mike-Bamiloye:
1| God remains the God of light (Proverbs 28 v 13). There are sometimes when we go contrary to the will of God for our lives and we struggle with going back to His love because we think we have gone too deep into sin. Please be reminded that God doesn’t and can’t operate in darkness; He can’t save you if you live a life of guilt and darkness. You have to leave the darkness by wholeheartedly confessing your sins to Him and believe that He is ready to set you free.
2| We need a spiritual mentor (2 Timothy 2:2). The Instagram post below by Joshua Mike-Bamiloye explains this lesson more:
Follow Follow The kind of person (or people) you have as a mentor, adviser, counselor etc. Can either make or Mar your own vision and destiny. They play a very important role in our lives. There are so many people in the world today with all their charisma and prestige leading many people into their downfall with wrong ideologies, theories and councelling. Prayerfully choose a mentor for your ministry, vision, and goal. Here’s a hint, the best of mentors have their eyes fixed on God…
3| Forgiving may not be easy, but it is a necessity (Mattew 6 v 14 and 15). For someone who has a terrible memory, forgiving and forgetting is quite easy for me. I initially thought my memory made me forgive and forget easily, but I am growing up to realise that there is more to it. As Christians, the Lord has instructed us to forgive as He has forgiven us, however, I am fully aware that forgiving isn’t an easy to do. Picture this: all the times that we have sinned against God and all the times that He has wholeheartedly forgiven us… then who are we to not forgive?
